AuctionsAds - 3 months old: Monetizing our websites by eBay

AuctionsAds - 3 months old: Monetizing our websites by eBayOne of my best sources about ideas in order to make money online is ShoeMoney.com, a blog by Jeremy Schoemaker, because I think he is really a skilled guy in this topic (even some bloggers in the world remember his picture with a check from Google Adsense for $ 132,994.97 on August / 2005 ). This guy and (I guess) other people launched three months ago a new system called AuctionAds: an interesting program to monetize the websites by putting relevant ads (they are not contextual) about items included in eBay’s systems. Now they have 17,138 partners in three months!

The ads are like those you can see in this blog on the left side. And I can say that although I have not made a lot of money by this yet, because I put them recently, the revenues can complement very well my total income per month and diversify my income streams.

You can choose the format in an available list and put the keywords that you need in order to get relevant ads. For more information, click here.

Adsense - Tip #8: Put the ads in the hot positions

In a previous advice was said that we should think about the Google Adsense ads as complementary resources to the content, and in fact, because they are contextual advertising, the ads are related to the content of the page and therefore that increases the relevance and the attractiveness so the users are interested to click on the links that take them to the advertised websites. All this is very well, but if we don’t put the ads in the appropriate positions, probably we could be losing many potential clicks.

Several studies about the movement of the human eyes on a computer screen have been made in order to determine which areas are the best for the advertising. Many of those studies have a trend of favoring the left side of the content while the right side seems not to have a lot of attention.

However, the level of attention depends on many details and we cannot have anything conclusive for all the websites, because each website has different structure, design, fonts, images and colors and for that reason what is useful for a website could generate losses in another.

Actually, several successful websites with Google Adsense, have put the ads in the right rail. For example: Woot.com

Adsense - Tip #8: Put the ads in the hot positionsEven the Google Adsense team in its optimization tips gives a base of what seem to be the areas with a successful trend (see image: more darker could mean more successful), but even so they know the results can be very different in several websites.

The thing that you should do is to apply the common sense to try to establish which areas could be really good for your Google Adsense ads by starting from your own conjectures about the website parts that catch more attention. Also, research the opinion of other people by doing experiments to see how much time they take to see certain parts of your website. The parts several people see quicker probably are the best points to position the ads.

When you have established those parts, put the ads. Choose the colors that match with your website and the appropriate block size (format).

After that, the most important thing is the mensuration of the performance by knowing the amount of money generated in each positioning. Conserve the ads in their positions during two weeks or one month and then change them to other positions. Continue experiencing so you can determine the best revenues by a iterative process during some months and keeping in mind the variations of your traffic (visits and pageviews).

You should keep in mind the variations of your traffic related to the number of visits and pageviews because if there is an abrupt variation, the revenues by Adsense could be more affected by this variation than by the change that you did in the positioning of the ads. Remember: common sense, experimentation and mensuration of results are vital in order to achieve the best positioning.

Agloco - Viewbar ready to install

Agloco - Viewbar ready to installOn Monday, I received an email from Agloco.com Service saying that the Agloco Viewbar is ready for downloading and installing after several delays and a lot of expectation. This viewbar will allow us to make money while we are browsing from one page to another on Internet by displaying some ads. The viewbar is visible under or over the browser.

I downloaded the viewbar and it was complicated because the website looked like congested and it was very slow. Anyway, once I could enter to the site, the process was easy.

Although I have installed the Agloco viewbar, that doesn’t display any ad yet. In the Agloco Blog they are saying that some fixes are being executed in the server and this could be affecting the advertising system. Now I am getting this text: “Ads to appear here shortly. Click for Viewbar FAQ”. Hopefully, the system will be working well shortly.

If you want to register yourself in Agloco (for free), click here.

Rich Dad Lessons: If you are not rich, you need a system to get wealth

Based on Kiyosaki’s work

Rich Dad's Lessons: If you are not rich, you need a system to get wealthAccording to Robert Kiyosaki, in the money world the 90/10 rule has prevailed most of the time: 10% of people are controlling 90% of the money. If so, we are talking about 600 million people that have 90% of the assets and the circulating money of the world. Many of those 600 million people are business owners or investors.

Just look around you and you will understand the 90/10 rule. Partly, that happens because a lot of people don’t have the appropriate education to look for financial freedom.

If you look for financial freedom but you are not rich now, it is clear that you need to be educated to get it. And unless you become a lucky star in the world of the investments, you need to create a bridge that allow you to pass from the economic dependence to the financial freedom: you need a SYSTEM.

The money-making systems are difficult to create and they require much hard work at the beginning. But once they start to generate revenues, if they have solid foundations, acceptable conditions in the market and some luck then you will be able to delegate its operations in other people so you can think about growing the system and making more money. This is what the true business owners do: they use or buy the time of other people to operate their systems.

There are three ways of having a money-making system to look for your financial freedom: by creating your own system, by buying a franchise or by joining yourself to a network marketing system. Let’s see the advantages and disadvantages of each one.

The creation of your own system is probably the most admirable of all the ways. If you build your own system and that is successful, you can end up becoming an extremely rich person beyond what you can imagine. The satisfaction is enormous when your own system is able to have a strong impact in the community where you live, or even in a global level. However, you need a strong dose of creativity and perseverance, a lot of perseverance. You should know that when somebody is building his own system, the failure is really probable at the first intents, but in turn each failure is an approach toward the success. To build a system from scratch will require a lot of effort from you in the initial stages: you must dedicate many hours in the bases construction and fight with many inconveniences that will come. However, keep in mind that when your own system achieves the financial success and you find appropriate people to manage it, many of your dreams will be true and you will achieve the financial freedom.

Another of the options is to buy a well established and proven system: a franchise. When you do this, you avoid the hard work and the inconveniences of the first stages of the system creation, because the franchise is given with the guides for the established operation, a well-known brand, prestige and with a proven business model that works. You will be able to focus yourself on finding the best people to run the business and being most competitive in order to generate every time bigger revenues. The obstacle with the franchise is that most of they require a strong investment of money and maybe you don’t have the money or the necessary credit. Many franchises of famous companies can cost more than $100,000.

Finally, if you don’t have the necessary money or the credit to create the business of your dreams from scratch or to buy a franchise and besides you think you need a training before becoming a true business owner, you could consider a network marketing system. This option is perfect for many people, because if the system is good, you will be trained for some important matters like the sales and the marketing and, besides of that, in order to join yourself to these systems you will probably need less than what an average person earn per week in a average job. Basically, to become a member in a network marketing system is like buying a personal franchise with an incredibly low price. The obstacles of the network marketing systems are the scams: systems deceiving many people. For that reason you must investigate all the options before joining yourself to a network marketing system. Here you have some tips about investigating a network marketing system.

And don’t forget this: Internet also allow us to build other systems based on revenues by advertising, whenever you can build a website with enough traffic. That can be very interesting but you need some skills like those that we constantly comment in this blog.

Adsense - Tip #7: The Adsense’s ads should match with the appearance of your site

Adsense - Tip #7: The Adsense's ads should match with the appearance of your siteDo you like the TV? When a TV show is interrupted with some ads, do you change the channel? Probably yes. And many people do it because they prefer to see if there is something more interesting in the other channels instead of “wasting time” by seeing advertising.

The same thing happens with the on-line advertising. People learn how to differentiate what is a real content on a website and what is an ad. Therefore, people learn how to ignore the advertising, quickly. Maybe not all the ads, but most people know they are only ads.

For that reason some on-line advertising campaigns do many things in order to get the attention of the users, and many times the advertisers make a fateful error: the obstructive advertising. Many of us have stumbled with pages that present an obstructive announcement or a pop-up window promoting some product or service, so we close it quickly because we think they are useless when we are looking for information that we really need.

Google Adsense has a great advantage: it is a contextual advertising. The ads are, almost always, related to the content of the page where they are placed and, in fact, they will probably be attractive for the users that arrive by looking for some information or resources, related to the topic of the page.

Regrettably, sometimes many websites make a big effort to label the ads of Google Adsense as simple advertising that can be ignored. Actually, they should be always displayed in this way: as complementary links to the real content of the page.

To highlight the ads, some owners of websites or blogs use colors that not match the normal colors of their websites. Or they only enclose the ads in a box, cell or column labeled as “Sponsors”.

When the ads stand out too much, they are ignored by many users that consider the advertising as the extra thing with no importance, and sometimes (rarely) the ads acquire all the importance, and the real content of the website is ignored. Although the last situation could generate good revenues, it should not make sense for a website that is supposed to be useful.

In order to maximize the income opportunities with Google Adsense, you should integrate the ads fully with your real content by showing them as a part of your content. Use the same colors as the normal links for the links of Adsense. Try to place the ads inside, at the beginning or at the end of the articles, instead of only placing them in the lateral rails or the footer where they can be more ignored.

Keep again in mind that these ads are contextual. They are supposed to be links to complementary resources for your content, therefore Adsense is not just about people clicking on ads so you make money, but it is also about to enlarge the list of available resources for the users. Don’t fear to mix Adsense with your content. If you make it in an elegant way and without exaggerating, you will stop losing many clicks.
